Aromatherapy

What is Aromatheropy?

A holistic way of healing using natural plant extracts, using the sense of smell to promote health and wellness.  Aromatherapy uses aromatic essential oils for medicinal purposes to improve the health of the body, mind, and spirit.  Aromatherapy enhances both physical and emotional health.

What are Essential Oils?

Highly concentrated natural oils found in plants.  Oils are extracted from plants by the process of distillation, pressing, solvent extraction, or CO2 extraction.  These processes extract the oils from the bark, flowers, stems, leaves, and roots of the plants.

As you can see, I have been keeping busy in the kitchen this past week.  I made some Whipped Body Butter that I posted over on the Herbalism Page.

I also worked up a lather making some bar soap.  My husband is hooked on this one bar soap that I make that has Cardamom powder in it as an exfoliate.  It also has Lavender and Frankincense Essential Oils so it smells so good!  It’s a simple melt & pour soap and is getting others hooked on it as well.  But I don’t mind.  I always love making all of these things.
